Lighting Research & Technology (LR&T) is the leading journal that publishes original research on all aspects of light and lighting and is published in association with The Society of Light. LR&T covers the human response to light, the science of light generation, light control and measurement plus lighting design for both interior and exterior environments, as well as daylighting, energy efficiency and sustainability.
"Przegląd elektrotechniczny" is the oldest polish journal for electricians. It has been published since 1919. It is dedicated for electrical engineers of all specialities. It presents the achievements of scientists and professional electrical engineers. It also reviews events such as: conferences, anniversaries, awards. Raises issues concerning all areas of electrical engineering including electrical engineering theory, power engineering, power electronics, electrical traction, metrology, lighting technology, electrical machines, apparatuses and transformers, electro heat and electrical material science.
This book provides basic knowledge of lighting technology. It describes the theoretical basis for the production of light, the eye response to irradiation, the basic terminology, quantities and their units, which utilize lighting technology. It also presents a tool for lighting parameters calculations, clarifies basic photometric measurements and discusses the reaction of light with matter.
The monograph shows rare elsewhere in works of this or a similar
subject, analytical approach to luminaires – a look like a photograph of flash
of the optical system. This approach uses a flashed area of the reflector as
the image of the light source processed by an optical system with its
characteristic luminance distribution for the direction of analysis. The work
provides useful information for the design and calculation of optical systems
of luminaires and original approach to applying LED in the design of luminaires.
The book describes light sources, light properties of the materials used
for the construction of luminaires, methods for the calculation of many optical
systems and construction solutions of some of special luminaires. The book also
contains basic information concerning luminaire testing and luminaire
maintenance. The work refers to the priceless work of professor Tadeusz Oleszyński.
The idea behind the authors of the book is the rational use of the luminous
flux of light sources in luminaires.
The author of the monograph presents issues in floodlighting based on
the photorealistic lighting simulations using professional computer
visualization techniques. The use of the virtual space for floodlighting design
gives almost unlimited possibilities to review the lighting concept and the
choice of the one that best meets the requirements. The book became a textbook of
polish school of floodlighting design by prof. Wojciech Żagan.
The book contains a connection of computer graphics with lighting design.
This book may serve as a basic manual for Autodesk 3D Studio. The book
describes the basic tools that are sufficient to create a professional computer
visualization of lighting. Content of the book can be used not only by students,
but also by those professionally involved in lighting design.
The purpose of the book is to introduce readers to the problems of
interior lighting design. The work is a continuation of the school of
multi-criteria lighting design started by prof. Jerzy Bąk. This book includes a
presentation of the process of interior lighting design.
The book presents basic physical phenomena used in electric light
sources. It describes the principle of operation, construction and basic
electrical parameters and performance of selected types of light sources. The
work is the result of many years of experience of the author in conducting
lectures in the field of electrical light sources.
The handbook shows laboratory tasks in the field of lighting technology measurements.
Each task is preceded by a theoretical introduction,
which allows to understand and recall the physical nature of the measured
quantities. The script is the result of the author’s many years of experience related
to the conduction of the laboratory in the field of photometry and colorimetry.
The guide consists of three volumes. They cover issues related to
lighting technology (lighting equipment, lighting design, lighting maintenance) and the problems of optical radiation techniques - photobiology and
photochemistry, problems with ultraviolet and infrared radiation, etc.
Publish or Perish. This old adage illustrates the importance of scientific communication; essential to research, it also represents a strategic sector for each country’s competitiveness. This handbook presents the “golden rules” for publishing scientific articles. In order to do away with major recurring errors, the author explains how to easily structure an article and offers support for the typical mistakes made by most scientists, tips on how to make the style more academic of more general to fit your intended readership and, in the book’s closing section, suggests new publishing techniques of the Internet age such as the micro-article, which allows researchers to focus their findings into a single innovative point. The major principles presented can be applied to a broad range of documents such as theses, industry reports, publicity texts, letters of intent, CVs/resumes, blogs and press releases, as all of these documents involve presenting information on advances, discoveries, innovations, or changes to our previous knowledge.
A lecture, conference or maybe a
television interview is coming up. Our hands are sweaty. We have a dry
feeling in the throat. What to do? Must public speaking be combined with a
great stress? How to deal with such a task? How to prepare? What to say? How to
behave? Reading this book should help all those who are afraid. Maybe not everyone
will be a great orator, but certainly can avoid many mistakes. You can make
good use not only of these tips. Some elements can or even should be practiced by
yourself. Everyone has a chance to learn effective presentation. The author
gained this knowledge from his own mistakes, but also learned from the best
presenters and media coaches. The publication is a handbook but also text to
read. For everyone.
In the book, the author explores themes crucial for polish scientists - how to present their research, themselves, and finally how to sell their knowledge. "Biznes po prostu" is not a technical handbook for entrepreneurs, in which there are solutions to all their problems. The book shows main risks associated with running a business: both professional and personal. The book is also a record of personal thoughts and experiences of the author, which are intended primarily to stimulate discussion and encourage thinking, and not to give answers to specific problems. The book shows entrepreneurs slightly in a different way - as normal people - with their concerns, mistakes committed and huge constant stress. Because stress and crisis management is an important and integral part of everyday business life.
In the above descriptions the excerpts have been taken from the presented literature.
